Within 90 minutes of the explosion, McVeigh was stopped by Oklahoma State Trooper Charlie Hanger for driving without a license plate and arrested for unlawfully carrying a weapon. Forensic evidence quickly linked McVeigh and Nichols to the attack; Nichols was arrested, and within days both were charged. Michael and Lori Fortier were later identified as accomplices.
I was playing golf that morning when I spotted one of our agency helicopters flying north. Within minutes, an additional 10-15 news and military aircraft seemed to follow the same path. I dug my phone out of my bag and had about a dozen missed calls and messages. The game was cut short and we were pressed into facility defense mode for the rest of the week.

But for a very vigilant Oklahoma State Trooper, the perpetrators in this attack may have gone free to continue their attacks on the government.

Have any of you guys been to the memorial? Chilling!! Sometimes, after 9-11, it's hard to imagine the impact of this attack. But once you get in there, it's hard to forget the impact of that attack. If anyone can ever make it, you should get there and check it out. It amazes me how quickly they got this memorial put together, but can't seem to decide on anything for the NYC memorial...

RIP and God bless the souls lost in this horrible attack.
