I recently got a pair of Converse High Tops off of ebay that I was just getting for me, but it turns out that these are a damn near perfect pair of unworn high tops from the 30's.

Now what to do?

I'm thinking I need to collect a little info on them and actually put a verifiable date to them and then flip'em on ebay.

The cool thing is I won a 2nd pair from the same era that are off brand "Pro Basketball" shoes. It makes me wonder if they are actually off brand or if they are really Pro Basketball shoes from the 30's - 40's.

If anybody has any Converse Yearbooks from the 30's,40's or 50's...PM me please.

Are you sure they are that old? I heard they were ocmng out with a modle that was revisiting the original lines. Just a thought.

Nope...they are that old. The date QC date on the Pro Basketball was 24931 or 9/24/31. The Converse are harder to date but everything is looking period. The people at Nike are calling them period after looking at the pics I sent them.

I'll post a couple of pictures tonight.

Dude, that is an awesome find. I was just talking about the original Chuck Taylor's last night. I still have a couple of pairs in the closet. From the 90's though.

I thought they were cheap knock-off's when I got them. I emailed the seller and they told me how they got them...Their uncle had bought them from one of Doris Day's estate sales about 15 years ago and when he passed away they started selling his stuff off for their aunt.

Taken with a grain of salt about the Doris Day bit, but the age of the shoe is looking good.

Notice there isn't a "Chuck Taylor" on the patch? His name didn't start showing up until 1932 IIRC.

These aren't all stars though:roundtheh

They are just another pair of Converse, like a step below the all star.

Dude, those kicks are OG. I would be torn between wearing them or collecting them.

For you FOGs out there or if you are just out of the loop "OG" means Original Gangster. When used in this context= F'n COOL

Let us know how they turn out. It always amazes me how you could find something that old in great condition.

No kidding...I remember about 15 years ago this guy found a nearly "new" pair of 1890's Levi's at an Aardvarks in San Francisco. Now that turned out pretty cool...and made the guy rich.

I just want a box of Behikes and another pair of Chucks.
