you are right, there is a nice cult following for fj's and old land cruisers.

as far as the side impact concerns, you can order optional side curtain airbags.

I bet you can order it to your liking, it isn't like you are putting a deposit down for an x-box. I'll have to ask next time I call and see how that's going to be handled.
