2014 BOTL Pipe - STAIN COLOR POLL

For stain colors the best options are basically black, tan, brown, black, dark red, light red, or more out there colors like green, yellow, orange. Unless done as a black pipe with will be done with a black contrast stain regardless of final color choice.

A "high contrast" stain is accomplished by staining the entire pipe black. The black soaks deeper in to the softer grain but not as much in the hard grain. Then the pipe is sanded again. This sanding leaves the soft grain dark but takes all the stain off the hard grain, bringing it back to it's natural color. Then the lighter stain color can be applied resulting in the amazing grain contrast you see in many high end pipes!

Lt brown if it's getting hit with black stain first and then sanded, it will make the grain pop

Light Tan vs/ Light Brown, essentially the same just with a little more or little less yellow tinge.
