  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over the next few weekends BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

Dave,

Let me correct you on one thing. We, being all that attended, did a great job on the herf. Had you all not been able to make it, then the food would not have been there, we wouldn't have had a great time.

It all comes down to one thing. Brotherhood(SIsterhood). We live this cigar lifestyle, but it does not completely develop until we are amongst our cigar family. We create memories, build lasting friendship, hear stories and live the dream. I have many great memories from that night, as well as some surprise smokes, which I look forward to smoking.

Thanks again for all being at the 2nd installment of the So Cal Herf! Once I get to work, I can download the pics on my laptop and put them on a flicker acct so that we can see the pics.

As for the stories, I love Evan's wife, Tina, especially since she scared the shit out of my stepson in taking his dog. God Bless you Tina. It was funnier than shit to see him squirm when he thought you were going to take his trophy, oops I mean his dog. He was fighting mad, but I laughed my ass off and so did Teri.

Seeing Dave's monkey ashtray up close was awesome too. I want one now!! hehe.. Vorra (Bruce) we had two of your ashtrays in attendance, so it felt like you were there also. I love that ashtray.

As for libations and food.

We had tri-tip, sauted mushrooms, Corn on the cob, salad (Jeff/Jerelynn), potato salad, Cole Slaw(Evan/Tina), bread, 3 types of pies, including an incredible apple pie made by Chuck's wife, Pat. It was incredible Pat. Thanks. Can I come over an have more please!!! hehe. We had cookies from Evan and Tina, as well as some goodies brought by Dave and Nicole.

Libations included Stella Artois and Becks beer, sodas, Ice Tea and Geo T. Staggs, Buffalo Trace, Mojitos, Vodhka/Lime Aid, Rum and Laporaig half cask double strength. If I forgot anything, I am sorry, but there was soooooooo much.

Thanks again Dave/Nicole, Jeff/Jerelynn, Chuck/Pat, Matt/Prieta, Evan/Tina, Mike/Alisa for showing up and living the dream! Sascha you missed it man!

Next time, I will make sure that GSmoke has the address. Sorry man, it was my error.

It is nice to come home from an event based on smoking cigars and have the wife say how much fun it was and how much she enjoyed meeting new people and seeing old friends. Win, win, win. Great job Bill.

Aside from Bill's eloquent ramble about brother/sisterhood, this really points something out Chuck. For those that might not normally partake, I think a HERF is not normally considered girly-friendly. I dunno why but that seems to be the general perception. But with a crew like we had there was nothing to it. You all knew each other from before but, other than not having heard all of Jeff's stories 15 times before, you certainly made BOTH Tina and I feel like we've always been there. I can't tell you how much we appreciate that (and you all) as well as how often both of us have brought up or recounted something that was said or done that night.

Bill/Teri if J needs any counseling concerning any post-traumatic near-miss dog-napping, just send me the bill. :innocent:

Bill,
I watched the blow out (Celtic/Laker game) at Daves last night and he gave me the smoke you sent. I really appreciate it and I hope you enjoy the nugget I sent up too!
Sincerely,
Scott
