  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over time BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

Well Guys, I somehow managed to delete the book mark on the thread a while back that someone posted 2nds about. Can anyone help me out with a couple of great seconds. I'm going to use these as my go to cigars.

It really depends on what cigars you like to smoked. All the Rocky Patel seconds are good if you like those sticks. The Vintage, Fusion and others are called simply "Seconds" the "X-outs" represent some other blends as well if you like RPs and what to know what they are, just let me know--the Olde World Reserve is "Liga C" and that's my fave.

La Aurora 2nds are good, they're from the regular line not the Preferidos.

I've heard that Perdomo ESV 2nds are good, I have a couple but haven't smoked one yet.

All of these are usually just as good as the 1sts but the wrapper is maybe too thin has a sun spot or something that makes it look ugly. The Decades seem to need some age (others would say they all do, but I've found them to usually be good OTT).

If you have more questions, let me know. By the way, all of these can be attained on cigarbid by the bundle and occasionally even in 5 packs. If you want a sampler pack of the above, just let me know as I have them all!

I just ordered a three pack of illusione culebra, I think I saw a post where there was a bundle of ESV 2nds for around $50 or so. At that price I wold buy and if I didn't like just pass them to friends who are occasional smokers.

You can get the ESV 2nds notably cheaper (closer to $2/stick) on cigarbid if you don't mind the whole bidding thing and being a little patient. Use the following link to price check the history of any given item on cigarbid, it's updated through a couple months ago:

I have one I can send you as well, if you like. And if you're an Rocky Patel fan (or want to try them) I have nearly all of his seconds. I also have La Aurora and Leon Jimenez 2nds. With all of these if you like the original stick, you'll most likely like the 2nd unless its a little "green" or if your palate is much more developed than mine (which is highly possible).

Of course, there is always the ELOs...

I really enjoy the RP vintage seconds, that is about all of my seconds knowledge.

I have heard that some seconds, such as (possibly) Perdomo's seconds, are not really seconds at all, but a totally different and cheaper cigar labeled as seconds of another, higher-priced stick.
Some seconds can be decent, but in general I would be wary of them.
Just my $0.02

I can tell ya as far as the perdomo seconds go, thats completely false....Ive bought 2 or 3 of the esv seconds and have had the regular banded kind and the only difference I can come up with is an occasional sunspot on the seconds, other then that they are 100% identical. I have also have tried the RP seconds and was very impressed by those as well.
Well I totally didn't hear it directly from Nick Perdomo, so don't believe me!

Maybe some seconds have some of the same tobaccos, and also a mixture of cheaper stuff as well. Like you could put 60% ESV tobacco and 40% crap into a cigar and call it ESV seconds. Not sure if that's how it works, but it seems plausible to me.

I figure I'm going to try them, if I don't like them not a big worry. I can pass them to my friends who are not really cigar smokers but enjoy smoking with me.
