I've said this before - but this is just a reminder. I'll be breaking BOTL over time in order to get it into a far better place. Just be patient if you can't reach us! We'll be back
Actually, although they are both called 898s, the Partagas vitolas are in fact, different sizes. The 898V are a helluva cigar and the reg. 898s are flat and lifeless IMO. So...you get a better cigar AND the varnished box with the 898V !!

I think this often mistaken identity is why the part 898 (not varnished) is on the cut list.. maybe to be released under a different name, who knows.. but I think Altadis wants to "clean" up these sorts of things..
it is like when bolivar had a zillion different tubos with different name but basically the same cigar.. or when different cigars have had too similar names.. they get either re-named or taken off the production to stream line things...
I agree with the good doc with the assessment of the part 898.. not even close to the part 898v... the 898 is at best a good cigar for a morning coffee.. but there are plenty of better alternatives out there that's even more suitable for this time and activity!
Yup, the varnished is a Dalia and the unvarnished is a Corona Grande.
Some say the varnished box helps in aging as it creates a more airtight seal.
They do look a lot nice too though.
