Is it ok if the humidity stays in the low 60's? Does it take away from aging or make the draw too easy?

It may burn quickly which would yield a hot burn if you are closer to 60. I know a lot of guys that keep it 62-64 and have no issues. I keep it at 65.

From what little I know, low 60 will slow aging and make burn hotter/faster. Just gently squeeze a stick toward the middle. If you get that nice spongy feeling & bounces right back and not leave a dent, then your fine. If it leaves a dent, then it is too wet. If you get that dry feel, crackles, and just does not feel right, then it is to dry. Don't go crazy with any hydro, let your fingers and how they smoke tell you.

The low 60s is not a problem at all. Personally, I very much prefer my cigars (the ones I'm going to be smoking soon at least) in this range. Don't worry about it--if you enjoy the cigars, then it's all good.

That's right in the range that most everyone I know keeps their smokes in. You are right in the zone, no worries.

I smoke mine at 62-65%. I wouldn't be too worried about the cigars getting hot when smoke them, just remember to take your time and don't rush it.

thanks for all your help guys.

What's a decently price hygro that is very reliable? I have the Wester III and I'd like to get another just so I have it in the future and so I can compare them side-by-side.

I have been looking at that one. I just need to have more than one. The humidipak works great but it's just another test to compare the two and you can't go wrong with that.

I have that one too. Not as accurate as the LH. I actually use both in my cooler. I just know how much the OS is off by.
