Maybe some of you guys can help me with this. Lucked out and stumbled on a couple of AF Holiday Collections from 2008 and 2011. The 2008 wrapper is noticeablely darker than any other Opus I have seen. Could this be from it not being kept properly, or was the wrapper different in 2008?

FFOX are color sorted, like many cigars darkness of wrapper leaf varies widely box to box...year to year. Everything looking ok to me. Strength and flavor intensity seem to correlate to wrapper color in my experience.

There's nothing wrong with the sticks. Like you said they didn't come from the same. Color varies on wrapper from box to box year to year. Those are perfect for smoking right now. Beautiful find. Enjoy stay smokey!!!!!
Like everyone else said, slight variations from year to year. I think I read somewhere there’s 88 shades of brown that cigar manufacturers use to sort like-colored sticks for boxes. I’d imagine it’s just a slight change from one years production to the next. I’ve got a couple identical smokes in terms of vitola and brand, but from different years and they’re slightly different shades of brown.
