  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over time BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

Here are a few estates I picked up in the last two weeks and how they turned out.

First pipe is just labeled Lilliput. It was already pretty clean when it arrived. It's a relatively small pipe that should be a good flake smoker.

Next up, a Pura-Smoke. Nothing special here but still something to add to the rotation.

Next in line is a Finsbury II. Again, nothing really special but I liked the funky shaped bowl.

The next pipe is a Hilson Bolero 201. I thought it was just a good looking pipe.

The last one is my favorite, and only because it is so unique looking. It is a "The Doodler" designed by Tracy Mincer of Custom-Bilt. From the research I have done it was supposed to be a scientifically designed pipe to cool the smoke. It has holes drilled around the perimeter of the bowl and three rings carved into the outside like fins on an air cooled motor. The styling supposedly was representative of the art deco/space craze of the 50's. Apparently the design was more or less a failure with the holes making the pipe fragile and susceptible to burn through. I thought it was a very neat looking pipe and I'll let you all know how it smokes after I get a few bowls in.
