Just bought this one last year. Always wanted a 1911 and bought this one on the recommendatoin of a friend in the Bureau. First time out she put 3 in the 9, 4 in the 10 and 28 in the X - great shooter.

I love the 1911's. My favorite is a Para P-14 limited with a little work (didn't need much)

What size targets and at what range are you shooting, your statement dosn't tell much, could be an archery target at three feet.:dunno:

Hi Mitch,

I can tell you and I are going to be great friends on this site (defense/offense weapon post).

The statement refers the Illinois Law Enforcement Training and Standards Board qualification course of fire. From the 7, 10 and 25 yard lines - 9 ring is 8"x11.5", the 10 ring is 4"x6" and the X ring is 2"x3".

Not bad shooting at all, and you forgot to mention it is a timed course no doubt, with forced reloads and maybe some off hand shooting as well?

I'm a desk jocky now, but in my day I owned some bragging rights. If you look back in my old posts you'll see some other rants on tactics and such.

Is that a springfield operator? Springers make some nice 1911's and that looks like a nice one to be proud of.

That's the one ... one of the best out of the box weapons I've owned. No tuning, upgrading or smithing required. My buddy that I mention up front carries the Pro model, but that piece runs right at $2,500 - didn't want to lay out that much and the Operator works just fine.
