I'm a podcast junkie. I've got a 30 minute commute, and drive frequently during the day. I like having a bunch of podcasts so that I can be involved with my hobbies when I'm not able to be involved with my hobbies, if that makes any sense. So when I started wet shaving, I looked around for podcasts. One that I listed to quite a bit was Moustache and Blade. One of the hosts, Douglas Smythe, owns a website called "How To Grow A Moustache" - and through that sells his Synergy shave products. On a whim, I bought a tin of his Frost Byte (mint and menthol - COLD!) soap. Lather was amazing and the glide was really good. A followup order was quickly placed.
One of the Synergy soaps that I'd heard reviewed on another podcast was "Cavendish" - supposed to replicate the smell of pipe tobacco. I figured as a cigar smoker, I had to give it a try. It may not be completely accurate, but it's really close. Lathering up you really do get the room aroma of a nice pipe tobacco. Lather is again outstanding. This soap has replaced Arlington as my "go-to" shave soap.
It does come in two sizes, a 4 oz and an 8 oz size. The 8 oz is massive, and is really a great setup for getting soap on the brush.
I figured I'd pass this on as a Public Service Announcement. If there was ever a group of people that would be into a tobacco smelling shave soap, it'd be you freaks on BOTL. The same ones that got me started trying wet shaving.
