Advice on laptop needed.

OK, so i have to buy a laptop...im looking at toshiba, but am open to anything...i will be using it mostly for school, and my job (which will require me to be able to edit pics fast and easy)

Unfortunately, im not wanting to spend more than $600.

does anyone have a nice laptop u think would be good for me? or can anyone suggest one that i might like?

got a lil 120gb or so acer + ms office at bb for 599.98...does what i need it to do here on the road...reports...watch vids...listen to music etc...no complaints and I got the 1 or 2 yr replacement to go with it...len

Check out Micro Center - You should be able to find a suitable unit for considerably less $600.

I grabbed an Acer "eMachines" 15.5" at Christmas as a back-up for my college daughter for roughly $325 incl tax.

And she loves it more than the $650 HP lap she took down there with her!

Stay away from Toshiba! Mine had the motherboard fry within a month of thw warranty expiring.

I'm looking seriously at this one...any thoughts?? i get the same model as the $500 one but for 50 bucks more, i get 4GB DDR3 ram and 320GB HD
