  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over time BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

an experience...

Yesterday was a really nice day, finalizing the granite counter tops, looking for sinks to go with it, you know how it is sometimes. Then back to the house to just enjoy the rest of the day. Later it was pizza and drinks with Cindy, her parents, her son Anthony and his girlfriend. Just sitting around on the patio enjoying the evening and the company of nice folks…life doesn’t get much better!

Anthony and I decided we needed to celebrate his recent birthday (26 years and counting) so we set up our smoking area at the other end of the patio so as not to bother the non-smokers. A couple of comfy chairs, an Ashton ashtray, and a nice stone top table to set all our stuff on, then it was time to select the perfect smoke for the evening. As you’d expect, the Aristocrat humidor still is well stocked, so we didn’t have an easy time selecting the perfect smoke. However, in my extreme wisdom, we decided to burn a couple of April ’07 PSD4’s. I’d had one recently and they were smoking very well, and it’s hard to beat the flavors when paired with Maker’s Mark. So…that’s exactly what we had to drink…a couple of clips with the Palio cutter, and a torch light later and we were well on our way!

Guys, we have said many times on this board that a good cigar is a great thing to enjoy, and even better when you are smoking with friends. Sometimes, the experience is just topped by something you can’t quite put your finger on, and this was one of those times. Anthony and I had smoked a couple of times previous, but this was just a great evening for some reason. We had time to sit by ourselves and just shoot the breeze and enjoy the cigars…we talked about a lot of stuff, some deep conversations, some not so deep. He’s a fantastic young man and a joy to be around.

Now, was this the best cigar I’ve ever smoked? That’s not really the question, now is it? Was this a cigar I’ll remember for a while? I’d just bet it is…

Great story Randy. Alot of times the best cigar ever smoked relates more to the experience surrounding it than to the cigar itself. Good stuff!

Super story Randy. It's one of the favorite parts of my day when my son and I retire to the cigar lounge and light one up.

this sounds awesome,

yesterday night , I took the dogs for a walk around my neighborhood, almost 2 hours, took a Padron 64 diplomatico maddi and a glass of Balvenie double wood scotch and enjoyed the warm breeze here. what a great walk.
I am in the middle of a few life changing things and one of them is about my love life. would have been fun to have the right company with me
