I have my entire coolidor set up and rolling, But I have cigars in a couple SLB's and cigars in other boxes. The question is Should I leave the lids open or closed? I'm not looking for long term aging, just storage. What is the best way to keep them?

True, But does it take longer for the humidity to penatrate the box? I don't want them to dry out at all.

They should be fine if they were already at the correct humidity before you changed humidors.

Not in my experience.

My guage reads 65% if it is out in the open part of the humi, and if I put it inside a box it still reads 65%.

Of course, none of my boxes are airtight, either...certainly not the SLBs.

The boxes absorb and store humidiy. They help stablize your cooler. Leave them closed.

Interesting. When I recieve a new box(es) I usually leave the lid open for about a week or so then close em up. Is this not a good thing either?:argue:

There's nothing bad if you leave them open for a week. They just stabilize quicker.

All boxes can be left closed.

If they didn't breath how could they be shipped sealed or be sitting in the humidor in the store closed and sealed?

Someday, I am going to buy a box of cigars.

But if that happens, I will need to buy a bigger humidor.

Ohhhhhhhh, this is going to get expensive.........
