  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over the next few weekends BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

This view from behind the line of scrimmage shows the other options Brett Favre had in the NFC Championship game against the Giants. Granted, if thrown perfectly, the pass to Driver would've have been a great play. I'm no analyst, but looking at things I think there were better options:

1) Throw to Jennings on the left sideline, and maybe the Packers score a touchdown on that play, or at least get in good field goal position.

2) Catch Donald Lee crossing in the middle, first down!

3) Check down to Ryan Grant 5 yards past the line of scrimmage, who knows how far he goes, but it looks good.

4) The yellow circle is the football in flight, and as Wayne Larivee the Packers radio announcer so often says, "there's the dagger"!

I feel ya Wade, I'm really sad that Favre couldn't have had another go at it this year. What he did, and what the Packers did, this year was truly astounding.

I really hope he comes back for another year because he can keep playing for another 5 at this rate. I know he feels every hit more than he used too...but he's just too good to go out on an interception like that.

:headroll: :headroll: Now he's turning on his beloved QB
Not at all, I said from the beginning it wasn't a bad decision, just a bad throw. OK, granted I'd like to see the photo from 1 1/2 seconds before that one, but if the toss was on the money, it was a big gainer. For me, I wish he'd have hit Donald Lee on the crossing route, but alas, I'm watching the Pats/Giants on Sunday!

Every fan suffers through that woulda coulda shoulda period of mourning at some point, but it's time to let it go. I was expecting and hoping for a NE vs. GB SB, but it's not to be. Wade, you know who to root for now. Sit back and enjoy history in the making.

I wished he went to the left side with Jennings and really stretched the field out!! :dunno:

Unfortunately, Favre was throwing behind his receivers all day, and thus it was on this play. Had this pass gone to the outside line it probably would have been completed for a large gain. I watched the game with my brother and both of us noted early on that he was consistently throwing to the wrong side of his receivers. Favre had lousy timing and accuracy throughout the game. . .:shame: He had a bad day and it came at the worst possible time.
