I think, like you said, the shot from 1 second earlier is the difference... jennings, lee, etc... perhaps were not as open as you think, once the ball flew, all the defenders going the other way slowed while offenders probably continued their routes full speed.
True that favre was throwing off most the day, no matter, my giants win.
