Hopefully they catch this guy in short order, or he does us all a favor and turns the gun around on himself.

Don't know if concel and carry would of prevented this tragedy but still agree people should be allowed to protect themselves. Feel especially bad for the families of the victims tough to lose someone so close to the holidays

The cop that was killed today didn't have a gun?

Don't get me wrong, if concealed carry wasn't pretty much impossible in this state I'd consider carrying a firearm myself, but please let's not pretend that every act of senseless gun violence can be prevented by more guns.

And what about the second victim, assuming it wasn't the shooter? Even then, they may not have been saved. But they would have at least had a fighting chance.

Well he was the first victim... You can't predict when a psychopath will pull a gun out. But I'm willing to bet a gunman wouldn't get much farther than a few shots when the majority of the students are concealing. Just my $0.02

RIP to Officer Deriek Crouse, 39, married father of 5

Seems nothing would have stopped the guy that did this. Couldn't have come up against a better trained officer. Thoughts and prayers to his family and colleagues

Officer Crouse was trained as a Crisis Intervention Officer, General Instructor, Firearms Instructor, Defensive Tactics instructor and most recently completed training for Advance Law Enforcement Rapid Response and Mechanical and Ballistic Instructor.

Actually, VA just passed it so non-students can carry at any VA school that receives state funding. Unfortunately, this tragedy still occurred but hopefully it will continue to make people be more aware.
