  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over time BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

Anticipation turned to disappointment.

after my pick up of opi yesterday, i was really looking forward to lighting one of the perfexcions up on the way home. when i unwrapped it i thought the wrapper looked a little pale and didn't have much of a smoothness or sheen to it. i snipped off only a small portion, and within seconds it started to crack. it had not been mishandled, the weather was good temp and humidity wise and no wind. i went ahead and smoked about half of it before i had to toss it, as it had cracked a good 2/3 of the way down. if i hadn't gotten it from a very good b&m i would have thought it was a fake! the shop is quite a ways away, so i couldn't save it and take it back, but i will inspect the second one and not light it til i am in the vicinity of the shop. anyway, it was a disappointment, and a rather expensive one at that.:cursing:

If your shop is really a good shop they should honor your displeasure with a new stick, store credit, or something of the like. Not everyone can bring their mangled cigar in to the shop. Let them know for sure. They will get credit for the stick anyway.

It would technically be proper, yes - although it's sort of fuzzy, an opus is usually an artistic work, and it's debatable whether "opus" in this context refers to the cigar itself, or to the cultivation, fermentation, aging, and blend whose embodiment takes the form of the cigar. If "opus" is taken to mean the latter, we are still dealing with a single opus without regard to the quantity of cigars of which we are speaking.

To answer your second question, opus is neuter (at least according to the reference materials I have available).
