I was just getting into it before my kids showed up... Now I am waiting for them to be old enough to leave them alone with my wife so I can get back out on the road. I just have a Fuji Roubaix from '06 with Shimano Ultegra components and some Mavic Aksium wheels... like I said, I was just starting to get into it.

Some impressive handiwork there... will that be a commuter or around town bike? Fixie?

I don't know much about road bikes, more of a mountain bike enthusiast. Although I am looking forward to the 100th Tour this year! My ride is a Pivot Mach 429. Need to get new wheels for it though... riding Salsa Gordos which are indestructible but very heavy.

I ride a bike to work when weather permits (about 8 months per year here). My bike is a 2012 Marin Bolinas Ridge 29er (about $450 new). I love the big, fat tires because the roads here are a mess. Lurch is obviously way beyond my level :)

I do not ride as often as I would like. Seems that I spend more time piecing together nice builds than I ride. Will be set up as a fixed gear with a freewheel on the flip side. I an going to builds a pair of polished h plus son rims with polished phil wood hubs when I get a chance

I ride when I can. Used to bike as my main means of transportation while in college but now I just hit trails for fun. I have a Trek 6000 that is mostly stock except for parts here and there that I upgrade after things fail.

Looks good . I bike when it's warm. Knobby tires though, I like to get off the paved road. Built my bike from scratch.

What streets are you taking? I used to ride from Park/Adams to SDSU 4xWeek on a roadbike... I blew a few tubes on the potholes, so I know what you are saying - The roads are not very bike-friendly.

Spam reported for one of the replies to this thread.

With that said, I have been meaning to reply here myself.

I am an occasional commuter maybe 1/4 of the time, and ride a Kona Smoke.

Love the sport as well in spite of all the stuff in the news about it.

Great build. The lugs are beautiful.
