  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over time BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

Any new info yet on the SCHIP tax vote?

Dude, if i'm gonna spend $25 on a chick much less 25k, she is going to be a hell of a lot better looking than B. Boxer. And probably more willing to do dirty things to me.

 Dude, I am with you on that!

But we really do need to fight. I think most of realize that our passion is going to get taxed more no matter what. But if we fight, then maybe it won't be that much.

Yeah, I know, click my heals three times. I'm not in Kansas anymore! Aunty Em.. Toto!!

I used to roll a cherry vanilla pipe blend in cigarettes. It is alot more moist, and tarry than regualr RYO. Turned my fingers and lips brown with in about 4 months. I'm sure someone will try it to see if they can get away with it.
I found a cigar from a long time ago when I bought weird novelty type smokes. It's a John T pipe tobacco cigar and while it did not taste bad it was almost as if the cigar has molasses mixed with the pipe tobacco. It burned pretty screwed up and it was tarry as hell.

2009 SCHIP Bill Introduced in Congress

More Info
HR2 Looks to Move Smoothly Through House, Slower in Senate

Congress has introduced the reauthorization of the SCHIP bill--HR2. The cigar tax proposal is as follows:

52.4 percent on large cigars (most premium cigars follow under this federal classification) with a cap of no more than 40 (forty) cents per cigar. This is far lower than the original proposal from the Senate of $10 per cigar and $3 proposed by the House.

This has been a long, tough fight for all of us, and considering we are still being hit with a tax increase on cigars, our industry feels the proposed 40-cent maximum (cap) is sustainable and certainly better than the original proposals.

We expect HR2 to move smoothly through Congress and will not face defeating oppositon. As more news develops we will continue to keep you informed.

I figured I would post this to show how bad things can get. I did a trade here and forgot to mention not to put cigars on the customs declaration. My fault but here is what the delivery ticket looked like. Keep in mind this was for 15 cigars listed as a gift.

WTF!!! they smacked you for more than $10 a smoke. Can you return them, and have the other end re-ship them? Call them fragrant candles.

Me bollocks! That's more than I've had to pay even when ordering boxes!

I just paid the taxes like a good citizen. It brings the prices of the sticks up to where they would be here normally and I get to try some stuff I wouldn't normally be able to find here.
