Besides, some of the advice I gave was bad advice, specifically the heat rocks. It seems they are universally condemned nowadays. I was going by my own experience; 20 years ago they were often recommended, but those who did recommended a specific kind that was designed not to have hot spots. That is the kind I used for 10 years without a problem. Since apparently many snakes have been injured by poor quality or malfunctioning rocks, it seems best not to recommend them at all. Mea culpa.
