My sons starter on his 1995 Honda Civic died. I have no clueof the engine size to by the part. (if it makes a diference) The engine was replaced by a mechanic that we have lost touch with. Is there a way to tell what size the engine is?
I thought half the fun of any project was 14 trips to the relevant store (home depot, autozone, etc). I always factor in the time I estimate it will take to do the work, plus an extra 6 hours in home depot trips, hahaBringing the part in makes for only going once.
My wife loves to tease me about this syndrome. "It's just a 15 minute job, right babe?"I thought half the fun of any project was 14 trips to the relevant store (home depot, autozone, etc). I always factor in the time I estimate it will take to do the work, plus an extra 6 hours in home depot trips, haha
Found the plate and the code is this one from the listIf it's a Honda Engine there will be a code stamped into he block, just below the head gasket. This page has some pictures and details...http://asia.vtec.net/topics/enginecode.html
Once you have the code you can pull the specs from this table... http://hondaswap.com/threads/honda-engine-list.29128/
Yup, any parts guy can look it up from there. For a starter you'll also need to tell them Manual or auto trans, but that should be it.There ya go. So at the parts store just tell them it's for a d16z6 engine. You can probably find youtube videos as well to help guide you. (Every car has their tricks)
