Anyone buying new boxes right now that taste reeeaaallly young?

I had a Gran Habano #5 Gran Robusto and a Padilla serie '68 rob today,
both after different meals and lots of water but both tasted very young and chemically harsh.

The Gran Habano had almost no taste at all except on nose and mouth exhale.

The Padilla was sweet but nothing like the other ones I have had which were complex.

Just wondering if it is the time of year, or am I crazy to think it is a time of year retail sales thing?

I bought a five pack of the Padilla 68's recently, and smoked my first out of the bunch tonight. It was an excellent cigar - no problems with youth or chemicals. It was right on par with the Padilla Miami 8/11's that I really enjoy. Probably should give the '68 box you received some rest at 65% for about a month or so --- hope you enjoy them as much as the one I had.

I let all the boxes I buy sit a month or so before I smoke any of them. I've been buying a lot of Pepin and Camacho Ltd stuff. I love those Camachos! From what I've been able to find out they're exclusive to cigar.com and cigarintl.com. They're the same company so they are the only ones I've seen with this line of camachos and they're great. Especially when picked up on cbid for $100 a box.

Thanks for the advice guys. These both went in my humidor on Jan 8 08. So maybe they just need more time. I just though it was wierd that I have had these before, liked them, and now they both taste so young four months later when I buy boxes of them.
