  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over the next few weekends BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

So new to the site still and I see a lot of people saying stuff about going to herfs and events. Anyone know of anything or is anyone around Dayton Ohio or Cincinnati. The wharf around me has events rarely but never went cause I was a super newb but I'll try and go to the next one they have. Was just curious if anyone was around my way.

Hey brother I see you posted this a while ago. I live down in Cincy. Cincinnati is a pretty decent cigar spot. Jungle Jims both in fairfield and Kenwood area have great selections. The fairfield location has a cigar tasting every thursday evening. The party source in Newport, KY (just across the river from Cincinnati), has the best selection and prices in the area. They hold a cigar tasting event on Tuesdays at the Beer Sellar in Newport. Up in Sharonville, OH likely closest to you of the ones I am going to mention. Has an HUGE cigar lounge that will hold 70+ people. Cigar selection is superb and is a little more expensive than others. However, lounges cost money to build and in my mind is totally justified. There are others but these are some of my favorites.

I'm in West Carrollton. The Wharf is the B&M I frequent the most. I dropped in at a DE event they had a while back, but couldn't stay long. There is a place in Kettering called the Market. They're mostly a beer and wine store with a humidor, but they host an event every month at the Dublin Pub in the Oregon District. I think it's around $50. They bring in a manufacturer, you get some cigars, some appetizers, and sometimes some alcohol pairings. I haven't attended one yet, but my uncle goes all the time.

Hey thanks guys appreciate the ideas. I have a cousin that goes to UC so I'll have to check around next time I go visits. I'll have to check into the Dublin pub thing that sounds like a good time.

In the last 2 weeks I've been to Jungle Jims (Fairfield), Party Source (Northern Kentucky), and the House of Cigars (Sharonville). Jungle Jims had the best prices, but Party Source had specials and good deals. House of Cigars is huge and has 4x (at least) the selection, but costs $1-$2 more per stick.

I am very new in the scene. I've only been to 1 event at Jungle Jims (I live north of the 275 loop so it's the closest). I plan on going to this weeks event with my dad (even though its an overpriced feature cigar). I'd love to go to the Party Source events but with both interstates under construction, I'll just stick up this way.

Lastly, there is a 4th shop located in Fields Ertle (Exit 19 on 71) called Bell's. They are a smaller family owned shop. Everyone is always friendly and they have events too. However, I haven't been there in a while and last time i went I didn't know what I was doing, so I can't comment on prices or selection.
