BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE
Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over the next few weekends BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.
Are Fireworks Legal in Your State?

Not, if by fireworks, you mean the fun ones. There is apparently some law that NJ is asking our PA legislature to change that says as long as an individual can prove they aren't a PA resident, they can buy them.... :dunno:

I'm not sure I never set them off. I had one go off in my hand as a kid and kinda lost interest lol.
They are legal to watch if that is what you mean. Most counties in Maryland not legal for most fireworks. Where I was raised, most folks are so Fin' dumb there not allowed to even have sparklers.

yep, but not in town. and with wildfire season, they will kill that option this year I think...
It's different by county and city here. In big cities, they're supposed to be prohibited. In the suburbs, it's "safe and sane." In some counties, almost anything goes.

I am not sure what is and isn't here in Virginia but when I grew up in Michigan if it left the ground and/or exploded like a firecracker it was illegal.
Legally all we played with were fountain type things, sparklers, little tanks, worms, etc.

No, well does some times of the year count... Its weird last 4th of july stores popped up around Atlanta selling fireworks and then closed the week after, I dont know the legislation, nor did i go inside any of these stores to see if they were the fun ones or not...
Last year they were banned in the county due to the dry weather, but we had some rain over the weekend so they will probably be a go, here. Huge profit in that business. If a person has three free weeks in the summer to devote totally to fireworks, they could make some decent cigar money. Some coaches open stands and hire their students to help them.
here in wisconsin if it leaves the ground or explodes (or both) it is illegal to have them without a permit. bottle rockets, black cat firecrackers, roman candles, mortars all need a permit to possess. but (get this) you can buy them at roadside stands withouta permit. but most of the stands can sell you a permit. not sure how much they are but a few years back i bought one for $15.00. so you can buy them without a permit, but you cant have them without it.
