  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over time BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

Are you a "collector", a "smoker", or somewhere in between

Nothing major, just a box of '03 PSD #3s and Tatuaje Noella Reservas and stuff. I've got a couple older boxes too, like from the 80's and early 90's. Mostly old ERdM stuff. And collector things like the CAO Bratalia set. Also some original releases, especially the '07 BGMs and Partagas Culebras.
Pretty much just sticks I know I'll want in a few years.

The PSD3 are smoking unbelievably gorgeous these days!

A box to put away and a box to smoke over the next two years and share with some friends is the way to go, butthat I get the best of both worlds.

Both...some are for smoking but others are investment quality and should be reconized for that fact. I have a few boxes that have really taken off in value (not NC's) and I would not dream of smoking them.
Same here Rob

I'm a bit of both but becoming more the smoker just because I feel guilty to collect something so long that probably cost a small fortune and then torch it. I'd rather just buy what I like a smoke more. Just an FYI on tats I read somewhere that they are meant to smoke now that the tobacco is at it's prime and will never smoke as good as it is fresh. I find that some of them that are over a year old are a little less than the fresh ones but different smokes for different folks that's what makes it so much fun. I had the pleasure of smoking the frank it was the frickn' bomb!

A little of bot as well, I smoke a lot of what I have but I did get a few boxes last year that Ihave not cracked the seal on. I know what they smoke lie now and I want a few years on them to blow my mind off.

I also am a bit of both. Though what most call "collecting", I consider it ageing. I get all "jones'd up" thinking of what some of the sticks I have will taste like in a year or 2. Most are Tat's, of course.

I collect zero cigars. Good cigars I like I age - to me that is not collecting. I am also seriously OCD about trying everything out there under the sun. To that end I have tried over thousands of different cigars, I get especially frothy about new releases. But I get excited about smoking them. Why collect a cigar? That to me makes no sense, the enjoyment I get out of cigars comes in smoking them. Just my opinion though. :)

I always try to collect - I buy a box of Tats, or PAM's and stick them in the back, but I end up "seeing how they are smoking" on a certain day. Before I know it, the boxes are empty.

I'd say I'm a 100% smoker, 0% collector.

You could only call me a collector if you allow for saving better smokes for better occasions. I enjoy burning them too much.

Also, I don't have the money right now to collect. It's hard enough affording a good smoke.

I would have to say I am a bit of both. For the simple fact I have various cigars that are rather expensive that I have aquired and can not bring myself to smoke, and then also I have come to find that I have some cigars that are much older than I thought. So again I can't bring myself to smoke them up. But then most of the time I buy cigars to smoke and not hoard.

They're my favorite cigar! I actually meant to say the PSD3s from 2001. Don't know why I typed in '03. The younger ones are still really good, tho.

Well, ye are truly lucky, mate! I have yet to even see a PSD3 from '01 (got into the hobby in '04 and well...there aren't many cigar smokers here). Though living here has its advantages as well (like a 5 min. walk to the nearest LCDH :smokingbo).

And I'd like to add, me "collector" part is merely temporary; they are all a "to smoke one day".
