  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over the next few weekends BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

I recently read a thread with someone showing the ashtray they had made while waiting for a child to be born. It was a nice ashtray and I did not want to hijack the thread. I recently made one for myself and would like to see what others have come up with. I am a back steps or porch guy and this works good for me. A long channel 5 1/4" for smoking or prelight, and a small 2" channel for letting one graceful go out. Also took my torch and charred the bowl. I would like to see what other folks have come up with. Nice stuff, I have a couple of ideas other then the tuna fish can I am currently using but I have to track down the materials and get started on it before showing pics. What did you seal the wood with?

I used Minwax Polyshades. It works great. Dump the ashes and rinse it out. I would not use Minwax on a cigarette ashtray but with a cigar it is perfect.
