  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over time BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

I live outside of Austin, unfortunantly Austin is not a smoker friendly city anymore, the few smoke shops are not that great, IMHO. South there is one in a coffe house that has a small smoking area, Show Me Your Ash, north there is Heros and Legacies, have to be a member to smoke in their lounge. I heard Fumee world opened a lounge up north but I have not been yet. There is a small shop downtown, cant remember the name, the couple times I have been in the guy was a prick, so I have not been back in years. Used to be Babalous on sixth, but it closed. If I want to smoke I go to Cool River Cafe for a good meal and a nice smokeing lounge that is grandfathered(for now). Its about time we had a central Texas herf....when are you gonna be in town?

I'm pretty sure that Bobalu is still open on Sixth. I was there in December. More to the point, the live video is still streaming on the website.

Not much for atmosphere, but the cigars (their own brand only) weren't bad. I'll be headed to the Fumee shop next time I'm down there. Check the website before you go to get the directions; it isn't in the book.

I hit another place when I was down there called Havana House. Small shop in the back of a bar, but the humidor was decent, and the guys were pretty friendly and helpful.

Safe travels.

I am not from Austin but I do know that Heather Haddad has a shop in North Austin called Fumée. A link to the site is here
That's great. Looks close to where my daughter lives (off Parmer). I'll be down in Austin this weekend for a pistol match. I'll try to find Fumées and check them out. Will give me something to do while the girls are out spending money Saturday afternoon.
