  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over time BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

Has anyone tried these? It's a new boutique brand I have read about, My B&M is getting them, but didn't know if there is any feedback on them out there. I hear there is a line that is a rosado and some talk of an African Maduro? Please let me know.

Direct link to the cigars: http://www.avaloncigars.com/home.htm

Prior threads speaking of their cigars from the past:
http://www.botl.org/community/forums/search.php?searchid=697475

They have gone thru some changes in their original cigars, they had to change the names first as they were sued by some of the attornies for the blues players they were named after, then they never fulfilled some of the deals they had with retailers which turned many against the company but I guess they are still kicking and trying to reincarnate themselves...

Thanks for the info. Hadn't heard about the legal or fulfillment issues. Once I have tried I will report. Wonder if they will make it....

I'm been curious about these, too. A guy was in a local shop the other week, smoking some cigar with numbers on it and nothing else. He said it was a nice medium smoke. Some of their others look really interesting, the Juke Series Red Label and Cerberus.

...I like their "Advertising" section...:eyebrow:

I've tried all but the Cerebus. The Number Series and the Juke series each have three different wrappers. I got a sample from them for my blog but haven't posted my review of them yet. It will be interesting to see if they catch on. i like their marketing and the bands on the Juke series, but the number series bands are almost forgettable. I'll post a link to my reviews when i post them shortly.

Smoked the 46 out of the number series last night around the fire pit in my back yard. The Nicaraguan/Dominican blend shines through as the most palatable aspect of the stick, but with subtle hints of floral in the beginning coming from the Brazilian Maduro wrapper.

While the site mentions that it is unlike any stick on the market, I would venture out on a limb to say that it tastes similar to a lighter version of a Vieje Oro.

I would like to smoke a couple more before I make a definitive decision on the stick for I have only had one (via trade on another forum).
