  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over time BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

This has happened to me a couple times....the first literally when I bent over to pick up my shoes. Sharp thriving pain. Mine was so bad I had to get up and walk around the house at night because laying down hurt. Went to the doctor and they said it was arthritis. I'm only 30! Gave me muscle relaxers and pain meds. Still flairs up every now and then but never that bad.

When driving try putting a rolled up shirt or small pillow behind you for some extra lumbar support. It helped some for me.

I feel your pain. Years of football, wrestling and weight training have taken their toll on me. I remember very well the day I reached for a pair of socks and my knees buckled sending me to the floor. The doctor put me on flexiril and vicodin and I was a zombie. Now when it goes out I take 4 advil and lay on the floor on the heating pad for 2-days and then get on the exercise bike and start stretching to loosen everything back up. I'm usually good as new in 5-days.

It has been hurting for about a week or 10 days. Though it was getting better then yesterday I think I re injured it. Walking, sitting, laying down, all feels so wonderful.

Broke my back in "92", now I have L1 is bulging, L2&3 are herniated, L4&5 are bulging and now my spine is full of arthritis. Constant pain. When ya got it in the back it effects your whole body. The only things I can tell ya is, lay flat on the floor, it will help even though it a pain to get back up but mostly, find yourself a "good" chiropractor. Just my .02 cents

If you can still put on soxs your doing ok! There's been times I would have to roll out of bed it was so bad. I definatly feel your pain. If I could offer any advice. Stay away from the muscle relaxers ( they just put you to sleep), take some IBprofien and relax for a few days.

Buy a good inversion table. My sister and I both had L3 bulging and her's herniated to where she had surgery. Her surgeon said it probably could have been avoided by using an inversion table. I know my chiropractor recommends them even though it takes away from his business.

Recommend you see a chiropractor... a real one that'll interview and x-ray you for consideration as a good candidate.

I similarly had long bouts of back injury. and after @6months of being subject to pretzel like poses and having my spine thrusted with real force for adjustment, i personally can attest to its amazing wonders.

Get well

I'll say right on with the chiropractor. I have a friend who is one, and he does wonders for my back. He's more into a bit milder adjustments and muscle work, but always helps mine. I always have crazy neck and shoulder tightness and stiffness due to looking at a monitor all day - and he's able to make that better almost by the next day after I see him.

Been there for many years and feel for you. I use a good Chiropractor and inversion table. It is the only way I can keep going.

Im on the mend but the best things that I ever did were 1. Chiropractor ( I was the biggest skeptic ever) 2. Stretching. I cant even begin to describe the difference.

Glad to hear its getting better, just be sure to keep up the stretching and keep going to the chiropractor, even if it feels ok. Maintenance is the best way to keep it controlled. It took all these years to get it messed up, it won't turn back with just a couple treatments. Keep workin on it.

Still hurts, not as bad but I can see it really hurting after a day or two back at work. Wouldn't a pulled muscle be okay by now? Could it be torn? My left leg has an effect on pain if I am sitting, lift my leg a little and point my toe towards me. Also if I'm sitting and put my head down, as well as bending over. Sitting is not great either.

Strengthen your core. I had a surgery is 06. Could barely walk. Dr. was amazing. I was so petrified of the pain coming back I worked my core everyday for an hour and a half for 3 years. No problems since. I hope yours never comes to that. Feel better.
P.S. The Percocet was the only good thing, if there is anything good, to come out of back pain. LOL
