Any former little league players here? My boy is starting in a 8U (coach pitch) this spring and I'm not paying $200 (up) for a bat. Instead, I've been looking for used bats. Back in my day, Easton's Black Magic was king.

Wondering what bats you remembered using when you played. Or if you have a 2006/2007 Techzilla or Easton Redline, and interested in selling, please PM me.

Note: found a Black Magic 2 1/4 29in/19oz no dent/rattle bat for $10 online and my boy is loving it (just don't know if it's legal).

Midwest!
I have two really nice, really expensive (at the time) bats from my little league days. They're a decade old now, but I can dig them out if you want.

Those might be illegal by now besides they are heavy as shit! For 8u I would go with an Easton s500 or s300 it's a sweet bat for the age group. If he stays with it by next summer you'll be looking at a mako or demarini for sure

Thanks BEEZEE. My boy is 53" (7 old) and pushing 100lbs so he needs a heavier bat, which is why I went with the old Easton for trial. Now, he makes solid contact without swinging to early, plus the lighter (correction) bat gets his wrists turning.

Since his Easton isn't stamped for legal play, I looking for something more modern (last decade) and equivalent (and legal).

Big boy! My 9yo is 72lbs and 11yo pushing 90lbs. If he can handle the weight and not rolling the wrists by all means go for it.
