I saw the Flecktones about 7 years ago live. They are amazing. Being a bass player, I was really humbled watching how easy Victor Wooten makes playing the bass look.

I LOVE THEM!!

My wife surprised me a few years ago, and got tickets to see them in Springfield MO for my bday. I thought we were only going to have supper, there, then she walked me over and into the Hammons Center to see them!! Awesome!

And I'm a bass player as well, and ditto to what Village Idiot said!

Really really NOT into Bela Fleck... HOWEVER, that said, you cannot deny the musical creativity and skill involved with his act.

I've seen Fleck a number of times with a number of folks. One of the best musicians on the planet, undoubtedly. I've been listening to a lot of Punch Brothers, Chris Thile and Edgar Meyer, and Abigail Washburn lately, as well. If you're a fan of what he does, I'd highly recommend youtube-ing any of those folks.

Contemporary jazz is definitely not my thing. That said, BF seems to always entertain with their world-class musicianship & showmanship. May favorite part of the show is when they do out-of-the-box covers or when Victor is doing back-flips while playing Amazing Grace.
