We're going to SC/GA for a week to visit family, and I want to make sure that I bring enough cigars, but I also want them stored properly. Any suggestions?

After flying...without it you sometimes have to pry them open by force because of the pressure difference.
So you only use it to release pressure before opening, this makes sense.

Also, do you close the valve prior to closing the lid, or after?

Mine is always closed.

Only time I have opened it was after a flight and I let the air out, opened the lid, and closed the valve.

Thanks Kingston. As you noted, there is an automatic pressure release valve built into the latch. Pretty nice feature.

30? How long are you going for? You know Cigar Caddy makes a 50! I always end up taking my 15 and my 5 and four tubes. The tubes are good for for short side trips, the five for going for a day and the 15 stores those to be used on a later date.

I have never traveled where I didn't end up buying cigars along the way.

Have fun.
