  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over time BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

It all depends what you mean by "under $2". If you're talking msrp...there isn't much, imo.

But if you're just talking about how much you have to pay...I've gotten TONS of great sticks for under $2 through auction sites, particularly cigarbid. Here are a few that I have scored for under $2/stick, usually in 5-packs and usually in smaller vitolas:

(*favorite) 5 Vegas Gold
(*favorite) Indian Tabac Cameroon Legend (both Cameroon and Maduro are great!)
(*favorite) La Aurora "La Aurora"
5 Vegas Classic
5 Vegas Series A
Indian Tabac Super Fuerte (nat and maddie)
La Vieja Habana Leather Patch (long-filler Cameroon)
LVH Fumas (all varieties)
LVH "The Early Years"
Chateau Real by Drew Estates (natural and maduro)
Reo by Rocky Patel
Vibe by Rocky Patel
Rocky Patel Vintage 2nds
Rocky Patel Fusion 2nds
La Aurora 2nds
Leon Jimenes 2nds
Rocky Patel Sungrown 2nds (x-outs)
Gurkha Signature (Symphony and 101 Maduro)
Gurkha Sherpa
(a couple other Gurkhas too...can never keep track of them all, lol)

and nearly all of the CI Legends series, many of which are good

I dont agree with that at all.....you can get some great sticks for around $2

like these from famous today

http://www.botl.org/community/forums/showthread.php?t=23634

That is an awesome deal! The Full maduros are a pretty tasty stick and can be had for under a buck fifty............
I was half joking and half serious. It depends upon what your definition of good is. A $2 stick is $2 for a reason. Even a good one can only be so good. It has been a long time since I've had a cigar that cheap has had anything to offer me other than just being something to puff on while I mow the lawn.

I haven't really had a $2-$3 stick I ever really liked enough to smoke it on a regular basis. I like the Romeo y Julieta Viejo 'R'. You can get a five pack of the for $25 for Cigar International's page. A bit more than how much you were looking for. But in my opinion well worth it! This stick is also #2 in their top 10 brands list. Try it out. I don't think you'll be disappointed. I wasn't!

You can get the "E" size for just $15/5-er as well:

And you can regularly win pretty much any size R&J Viejo 5-er for about $15 on cbid as well.

That's the reason I like cigarbid--you can get cigars that really are $5+ quality sticks for less than $2.

Ok, guys, I read the forums every day but don't post. I am at the breaking point and need advice. This is one of my first posts. Here goes...

With the downturn in the economy I've got to cut back on my daily cigar expense. I'll save the nicer cigars to weekends and special occassions. But I am at the point I want to smoke every day, or every other day.

So my question is this, what is the best cigar that you've had that's under $2. I like the Drew Estate La Vieja Habana but it's over my limit at about $2.50. I think I remember the Flor de Oliva as being a little bitter but ok once they aged some but my local cigar stop doesn't carry them any more. I got the bundle for $23.95. Never been able to find them that cheap again.

The last bundle I purchased was the Robusto Occidental Reserves and they are the worst cigar I've ever had. Every one of them tastes like it was dipped in some chemical, like Lysol. They are awful. Any advice would be appreciated.
Have you tried the Romeo y Julieta Viejo 'R'???

By the way, you can routinely score Drew Estates LVH sticks for $1 apiece on cigarbid, NightStogy...I won a box of 20 coronas for $16 (yes, I'm serious).

Cigarbid is both a gift and a curse. You can get 5 Vegas (gold and classic), Vibe, Indian Tabac, and Sol Cubano for $2 and under on a consistant basis. They aren't Tats, but they aren't dog rockets either. If you check out the Famous auction, you can usually get some of their "exclusive" brands for under $2. I've had both Conuco and La Campina and they are worth over $2 IMO. Sancho Panza, Gispert, Henry Clay are all good choices also.

I just bought a bundle of 15 Perdomo ESV 91 seconds from cigar international for $29.95 Normally they are $39.95. They are awesome cigars they are just as good as the the one you buy for a lot more. Just a wrapper blemish. They look good and taste even better. $2.66 A STICK. I could smoke these daily!

What kinds of flavors do you guys get off the ESV? I bought a whole box worth when I found them super cheap, but have only smoked one and thought it was pretty much an airball. I'm hoping the rest will be better...
