  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over time BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

I know the Zen Man posted http://www.botl.org/community/forums/showthread.php?t=24218 From what I saw, it was for smokes made in 08, smoked in 08...but what I want to know is what is the best smoke you had this past year...maybe one with some age on it or a last year release or whatever...NC or CC or BC?

My best stick was smoked minutes before the ball dropped in 08...was an Edmundo Dantes El Conde....sent to me by my and your favorite Mexican...Moro! I know the anticipation had a lot to do with it, but That stick was like a gift from the holy love child of a Habana virgin princess of communist royalty and an Aztec warrior god!

So what was yours?

or course, there was the Cohiba Siglo VI that my friends and i passed around along with some whiskey while on a camping trip.

But then again, there was the ramon allones we passed around the firepit along with the entire bottle of Bookers bourbon over thanksgiving...

So many good time smokes.

Actually this is kind of hard, because I have had many fantastic cigars this year, it all depended on mood and timing. But I sure can rmr the great smokes I had.

I smoked a lot of good cigars this year, but my favorite one this year would have to be Part Series P No. 2. It was after the family and I got back from the Christmas Eve party at my parents. It was a nice quiet night about 65 degrees (needless to say there was no white christmas at my house!) and I set out on my deck and watched for santa while sipping on a glass of rare breed and smoking this fine cigar!

I could easily say the Opus X, but the best cigar new I had this year was the Oliva Serie O, Churchill. It was the first time I ever tried it. It is a nice mild to medium bodied cigar. It was smooth and consistent the whole way through. It's a good cigar to sit out on the patio and read a novel with. Burned even, tasted great.

...this is hard.

I'll go for a '06 CoRo, which was so good not only on it's own but also where and with whom I shared it.

To many to mention, thanks to you guys, I have experienced a whole new level of cigars. Tats, Pepin, and a couple from the ISOM that I never had before. I would have to say probably the best I had was a PSD4.

Tough questions. There were a lot of 'firsts' this past year that blew me away.
Top two that come to mind though:
Padron Reserva #44 (family reserve) & a Blackstone 'clear-havana' from the 1940's.

Trini Ingenios takes 1rst prize. I have to mention the Cabi Guapos 46 runs a close second and Tat west side would be 3rd.
