That's awesome! My in laws never watch Christmas Story. They watch It's a Wonderful Life. That's changed, we have Christmas Story on all day at their house now. Could wake up from a nap at any point in that movie and enjoy it.

We rented the Christmas Story house tonight in Cleveland and in a couple minutes the museum closes down and I have free range of the entire house. I'll be smoking on the bench outside tonight while I look at the leg lamp through the window. I'm totally stoked!

That's awesome. Like many, the movie plays at least a couple of times on Christmas at our house.

OMG!! That is freaking hilarious!!! "He won a contest!!!".
My in-laws are big on gag gifts. One year my BIL got my Father-In-law a replica wooden box, with the leg lamp (it wasn't a full size lamp). It was so funny! When my FIL passed away, my BIL was going to take the lamp. His wife said "No way!! Absolutely not!" So my husband got it! I thought it was cool! Its in our bedroom right now, he uses it as his bedside table lamp!
