  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over time BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

legends: the snickiers bars will be deep fried in funnel cake batter, like the ones at the fair.

quadry: I refuse to leave until the USC/UCLA game is virtually over, if thatn matters.

help me go over my mental check list, this is what I'm bringing:

e-z up 10' x 10' canopy
chairs
table (can't remember the dimensions)
turkey fryer and oil for corny dogs, chicken wings, snickers bars
camping stove for b-fast tacos/queso
separate cooler for beer after the game in case we float the keg
5 gal jug of water
trash bags
wet naps
paper towels

cigars, of course

john can you bring your tailgate grill? I think it might be better to use that to cook up the tacos and keep the queso warm. I'll bring my stove as a backup just in case. does anyone have a quiet generator?

we'll be on concrete, should I swing by home depot and pick up an astroturf mat?

I have a Texas ease up that I can bring as well.

I will bring:

Grill
Tent
Water
EC hot links
Torts.
Cups
Table
Shot glasses

That is what I can think of right now. Do you think we need an extra parking pass for the tents? If so, buy it and I will pay you for two. I would hate to get out there and not have a place to set up. So, just put me down for two parking passes.

oh, and if you have a keg, how will you keep it cold pre-game? I guess you can ice it down at your place and just keep it in the barrel during transport, but that seems difficult.

I was going to buy keg, but our crowd swelled so it'll be cheaper to get it. going to keep it iced down overnight.

john -- I doubt we'll need to buy extra parking passes. we just have to make sure we roll up early and block off the spots we need.

I think if you sledded your way down here with some bear meat and a couple of wolf pelts in tow you could finance the conference and national championship trips for all of us.

My crowd keeps shrinking as they are saving money for Pasadena.

Does Reliant have grass spots out there? If not, there is no way we could setup a tent out there without buying an extra pass. If they do have spots, that would be great, but every parking lot only allows you to occupy the spot big enough for your vehicle. Anything over that and you have to have another pass.

I should have about 10 people coming now. That is about 3-4 cases for us. I can just bring that myself no problem. I do not know how much beer some of your friends will drink, but mine will down about a 4 or 5 each before the game.

wont they be directing everyone into spaces at the lot? if they do, then we'll need one pass for each space used, i think. not sure though.

That's what they dif for the Rice game in 2003. You might not be able to pick a good spot but since ya'll are getting there so early, you might be able to make it happen.

From everything I have read, the line to get in the parking lot is going to be long! Some people are talking about being there an hour before if they can. I guess the Longhorns just know how to roll!

dang. we'll should still get a nice spot. if we can't find one near some grass we'll go for the ones near the fenceline along kirby. we can make fun of the scalpers on the other side.

The word is they kick you out of the lots 2 hours after the game. I think we could get away with longer, but when does the 2 hours start? At 00:00 on the clock or when we get to the truck? Details, man, I need details. I think we will be fine. I only have a bulky ass tv, so that is what we will have. Unless someone wants to buy me a plasma tv for being cool as shit. I do deserve an award for that!

I will be leaving this afternoon, to head that way to the home of Purple Drink!
