Not to beat a dead horse, or pick on theribdoctor since I don't know him at all - but I think the actions of people who are referred to the board do reflect back on the person that invited them.
Granted, it is a public forum and anyone can join - but when someone signs up saying they were brought here by another poster, that buys a bit of extra credibility. It's not unlike allowing yourself to be used as a reference on a job application. When the guy you vouch for ends up stealing from the company, you're inevitably going to shoulder some of the blame for it.
