  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over the next few weekends BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

as i have previously stated, despite lusting for an IPhone, I went with a Blacberry. I have used my sons IPhone and really liked it. But now that I have the Blackberry, I am happy as hell with my decision.

i think that the one thing that really turned me was the keyboard. i just could not get used to the touch screen. I guess i am an old fart, i like things old fashioned.

i know that the iphone wins in the browser department, but the curve aint that bad. i use it for checking my ebay listings, BOTL, and whatever. between the verizon browser and Opera Mini, it does a pretty nice job.

The Curve is awesome in email department. on my home page are icons for my 1 personal email, and my 2 business email (soon to be 4). they indicate when i have received anew email, and i can set it to ring and vibrate for email notification.

the other cool features are the 2 convenience keys(1 on each side of phone). i have 1 set for the browser, and 1 set for voice dialing. just push a button, and you are there.

i am learning more by the day, but this phone is the ultimate small business tool.

I like my Iphone but for business crackberrys are where it's at. There isn't much they won't do. As for the Iphone there are many things it "won't" do.

Send pictures via sms, no word, excell, ppt etc...the ability to sync two phone via bluetooth to transfer pics, docs etc...the keyboard isn't all that and it tries to spell for you. And I'm sure I've left a few things out.

Yes the built in ipod and gps are nice but I've already got them in separate units. And I've heard once the iphone is unlocked and jailbroken it's 10,000 times better and have way better applications to make it a function like any other smart phone.

And If i could do it all over I'd wait till they release the blackberry bold or just got the newest curve with wifi,3G etc...

i just added google maps to my curve. i already have a garmin, but its still a cool little tool to have. you can get directions from 1 point on a map to another point. its great if you know a general area that you are traveling too, but dont have an exact address

Neither, the Tilt from AT&T, has both touchscreen and keyboard, functions as an actual voice guided GPS, has the side buttons, wifi, 3g, and has up to 8 gig with the microsd input, so basically can be a music player. I love it. Plus it is windows mobile baced and syncs flawlessly with my home computer.

I love my iphone. I was a little afraid of the touchscreen at first, but it's pretty slick now that I have that down. I especially love the integration with my Mac at home- Calendars, emails, etc.

I rather the iphone, mostly because i'm still not working, you know? I would just use it for music, pics, contacts, vid's, etc... I wouldn't use it for big things. Besides, i type a lot faster in the keys of the iphone than on a blackberry (my dad has the blackberry, or like he says, Blueberry, hahahaha)

I have the Curve that work gave me to use, it is great for the bussiness person.........

But I will say a few folks in the company got the I Phone to try out and the guys who have used it LOVE IT. I wil say since you can look at documents better on the I Phone it could have an advantage over BB. But I will if I every get one.

I can't imagine life without my iPhone. It is simply the smartest personal device I have ever owned.

Having said that, I carry a crackberry for work and it is fine and the crackberry storm is supposed to be the cat's pajamas (i.e. weapons-grade cool).

I played with a Storm today. The stores here in CT don't have any left. I like the touch screen better then the iphone because it wasn't like I was "fat fingering" the keys. BB has its own features as well as Apple so you really cannot compare apples to apples (no pun) but the features were basically the same in their own way. I thought the it could of been a little quicker going from screen to screen, but it might of just been over worked. If I had to score it, I would of gave it a 8 out of 10.

I will wait a while before I get one. I would like to get some one's used BB Curve for Verizon and replace my Pearl with it. I will be on the look out because you know there will be some out there.

Most of the people who buy the Storm are going to be BB owners already. I find it interesting he left Verizon for Cingular/AT&T just for a phone.
