  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over time BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

Harley Davidson is the best, my personal preference. I have rode other types the HD's just feel better. I know guy's with over 100k on the 88ci. I had a 95 sporty then upgraded to 03 Road King. Recently had to sell the Road King although I plan to get another ASAP just not sure when it's gonna be possible, given the current financial situation of myself and most small business owners.

I heard that Harleys aren't even made in the US anymore. :dunno: I think they are now made in China and Mexico. They are still badass though

Harley has never done a thing for me. Absolutely no offense to any owners/appreciators of the brand intended but I associate them with wealthy middle aged white dudes who mostly like the harley image and "lifestyle".

However, that new XR1200 is bitchin' sweet.

Beyond a shadow of a doubt, every year, more and more parts for HD are made in China & Japan. The bikes may be assembled here, but HD is NOT 100% American made and this is not disputable.

i totally agree with you on that. same with all of our "american" cars. it always pisses me off to go in to get a part at the harley dealer and it's made somewhere else. but that's the sign of the times.
i guess it would be safer to say that harley's are "assembled" in america?

I guess I'm pretty oblivious to cigar smoker stereotypes. ;)

There's not a thing wrong with riding a harley, or even with having brand associations. I'm talking about people who think they can buy a "lifestyle". They do it through harleys, jeeps, gibson guitars, expensive cigars, nike air jordans, or anything else they think will help people recognize what "type" of person they are based on their status purchases.

I don't think it's wise to try and apply those traits on an individual basis though. It's too difficult, and it leads to a cynical outlook. In other words, I would never assume that just because somebody rides a harley, they are trying to buy a lifestyle.
