BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE
Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over time BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

Cigar #5: 5.5 54 ring box pressed
Pre-light
Sharpless box-pressed. It reminds me of the Tatuaje TAA releases, or something LFD would put out. Chocolate brown Colorado wrapper. Obvious seems, but no veins to speak of. Very light aroma.
First Third
Nice black pepper and deep rich tobacco. A good start so far. Room note has some fruit in it, plums mostly, but I’m not tasting that in the smoke. A little sweetness started around the half inch mark. Medium body and flavor.
Second & Final Third
Same as the first. No real significant changes. Unfortunately work bothered me for nearly 2 hours, and I didn’t get to record much about the cigar. I didn’t really notice any changes over the course of the cigar. Some leather and wood towards the final third.

No idea. It was a good cigar, if a bit 1 dimensional.

AJF Fallen Angel. Overall, it was a pleasant cigar, and one I would be happy to smoke again if I wasn’t looking for much complexity. As it turns out, it was perfect for rotting on a needless conference call.

Smoked blind stick number 5 a couple weeks ago, just now getting around to posting the review... (sorry, my bad - at least my notes are thorough)
Like a true genius, I had a pic and lost it. (strike 2 here...)
Dark brown wrapper, corona or CG, firm to the touch with a very smooth wrapper. Cold draw is firm, with hints of cocoa?
1/3 - the draw is not easy, but there's a lot of smoke. A little pepper, very peppery retro, but doesn't burn like a lot of peppery smokes do. It reminds me a bit of the Four Kicks that I couldn't identify, so I start to wonder early on if it's the BBB - I've never smoked one, but I have one from an NHIE bomb... they look similar, but I think it could be a lot of things.
2/3 - still peppery, especially on the retro. About halfway through, I switch from tea to beer.
3/3 - pepper remains as the dominant flavor but the beer has somewhat masked the flavors of the smoke, as it often does. Stick is burning well and I'm enjoying it. I'm thinking it could be anything - a Garcia, a Pete Johnson, maybe even a DE? Do they make LP's in this size?
The next day at work I pull out the answer key - it's the 4K BBB. Good smoke all around, looking forward to smoking the other one - I think I'll let it rest a while to see what happens with it.

Tonight I am reviewing #1 from @BenS. I have only been smoking cigars for @4 months so my palate is a bit raw. This is my first official cigar review.
The cigar: About 5.5x52-54 rg. Very nice medium brown smooth wrapper with a decent amount of oil and a couple noticible viens with tight seems. Well packed with a slight amount of give on the sqeeze.
Pre-light: very faint smell of tabacco from the wrapper. Strong manure smell from cut end. Slightly sweet tobacco and chocolate from the cold draw.
1st third: First few puffs I get a blast of pepper on the back of my toungue and I'm thinking Pepin has got his hands in this blend. I taste oak and a barnyard earthiness along with the pepper. Pepper and earthiness on the retrohale. The strength and finish are a medium.
2nd third: A rich earthiness moved up with the pepper and oak, light coffee joins the profile. The richness of the earthy flavor really has me searching for a better discription for it but I can't come up with it right now. It is the dominant flavor.
Final third:
Same rich earthiness, pepper has faded. Coffee and oak are still present with a suttle sweetness I get every once in a while.
I brewed a cup of coffee before I chose my cigar for the night, then decided to pick a blind review to smoke so it's been water till now. With maybe 15 minutes of smoke time left I grab my coffee to enjoy as I figure the review is over. First puff after a sip of my coffee and that rich earthiness that I couldn't describe instantly jumped out as cocoa. This cigar goes great with coffee.
Overall construction and burn were perfect. Smoke time 1hr 50 min.
I have a hunch this is something made by Pepin. It has all the signs of a Nico, pepper blast, light grey almost white ash and coffee/cocoa flavors. I don't think I have smoked this one before.

6x50ish beautiful redish brown oily wrapper. It has a medium size vein running through, tight seems and a nice tripple cap.
Pre light: Very nice barnyard aroma from wrapper, clipped head and foot. Great tobacco flavor with a touch of spice and sweetness from cold draw. Firm draw.
1st third: Red and black pepper up front with a hint of old leather and earth. Creamy, chewy smoke from the beginning. Medium body to start. Less than a half inch in and I'm 90% sure I know what this cigar is.
2nd third: Milk chocolate, leather, red pepper and a hint of raisins and cocoa towards the end of the finish. I had a real hard time identifying flavors in the 1st third, it was frusterating because I'm pretty sure this is the first cigar I called "my favorite cigar" and still one of my favorites. Well the intensity of the flavors has really picked up in the 2nd third and it is very nice.
Final third: Flavors continue to blossom with rich dark chocolate, earth, black pepper is ramping up again, coffee, cocoa and still some raisin sweetness toward the end of the finish. The cigar stays cool and smokable to the nub.
Smoke time 1hr 35min
My guess: Don Pepin Garcia Blue Lable Generoso.
Answer: DPG Blue Generoso.
Thanks again Ben, it was an absolute pleasure smoking and digging into the flavors of this cigar. I think this one might have had a little more rest than the ones I've smoked before.

Ryan, everything looks real good over here, talk about smacking me around while we play a friendly little game!
The AB will bring back some good memories and the Ashton symmetry was quite tasty if i remember. These other three are way over the top my friend!! Ryan doesn't screw around guys, be careful when dealing with him!
I'll have your end out on Wednesday I'm thinkin. I'll let the blind ones rest for a week before digging in
