And any other place where common sense, (it's only a game folks, played by millionaires who, whether they win or lose, will still be millionaires tomorrow) does not prevail when rooting for one's team.
These pictures speak to perhaps a larger societal issue.
When will we come to the realization that while it is great to be a fan and to support our teams, no where does it call for us to live through them. I read an article once on this whole thing and the goal of the team is to get the casual fan to move from "the team/them" to "us". Since when do we have any control over the outcome of the game?
While it may be said that these are the actions of only a few fans, if any (I recall that in Oakland a couple of years ago that the riots which took place were spurred on by a group of out-of-towners whose only purpose was to spur on the already angry crowd. They did so by starting a fire or some other act and then quickly ran off, changed their clothes, mission accomplished (it does not take much to lead sheep...).
