Thread update: Revised 6/22/12

Sponsorship for a trade in the Newbie Sampler Trade (NST) is now open for any BOTL member in good standing (meaning a 100% Trader Rating) with at least 6 months on the board and a minimum of 25 unique Trader Ratings. Cash deals will remain under the original criteria of being an active member in good standing for at least one year. Any active member in good standing can still participate after one year as stated below in the 3/10/07 revision.

This revision is being made so that some of our newer, yet established members, have an opportunity to be more involved on the board. It also seems that it’s the same group of about 5-10 guys that are the ones sponsoring in the NST, and we’ve had several guys waiting in the que lately.

After running this by Eric, Bob and several other brothers, we feel that it would be in the best interest of the board to make this change.

Revised 3/10/07:
Starting today, all sponsors will need to have been active members on BOTL for 12 consecutive months and be in good standing or have successfully sponsored before. Also, when volunteering to participate in the Newbie Sampler Trade (NST) both parties need to make sure that their schedule allows for the time needed to package, label, and ship their end of the trade. If you are very busy or foresee not having any spare time please wait to sign up until you are less busy.

I'll help out, even though I'm just a week away from being on the board for a year. I can do cash, trade and international.

Before I jump in on this, and ruin something I send. What is a good way to ship my cargo? Ive seen images of people doing USPS etc. in ziploc bags. I imagine I should try to pickup a pillow or something to send with the items.

Just making sure I do it right my first go around, before I ruin my one and only chance to start this doo-dad up.

Thanks,
-Chrisso

USPS priority flat rate seems to be the easiest. double bag doesn't hurt, a water pillow or teeny boveda helps. moer importantly, use padding, and don't overstuff; leave the smokes gently padded with little room to wiggle. be thorough, but don't overthink it! o)

More than anything if you don't have 5 or 6 finger baggies, do not, I repeat, DO NOT ship celloed cigars with naked cigars in the same bag. They will rub in transport and likely the naked cigar will be damaged. Put naked cigars together in a bag and tape the bag over so the cigars are snug inside. I always bubble wrap when I can too.

So do I need to throw a pillow or something in with the bags too?

I kinda figured I shouldnt ship them rubbing together, but glad you verified it.

Thanks, CaTeacher!
