So quick curious question....how log should a cob pipe last? I managed two and a half bowls in my sampler pipe over the past week before the Bottom plug fell out. Is this normal/to be expected with cobs or did I do something to facilitate its untimely demise? Should I just go pick up a Grabow?

Thanks brothers! Btw, loving the pipe baccy :)
The first cob I purchased is looking raggedy but still going strong. I have yet to burn out any cobs. Was this a Missouri Meerschaum or an off brand?

I believe it was a Meerschaum IIRC from the sticker on the bottom. I'll chalk it up to bad luck and go pick up another :)

Thanks guys!

I have some cheap china made cobs I am 20 bowls on one and 52 on another and smoke fine. I have to admit that while smoking them I pay close attention to the taste. Once I get to the wood of the stem I can taste the difference and stop smoking. MM cob I still have two from long ago. One of them needs a new stem and shank but the bowl is in great shape. If you get a Dr. Grabow and like bent pipes get an Omega. Love that pipe. I have abused that pipe and still gives me enjoyable smoke.

Got my Newbie sampler from UtahRootBeer last night and I am still hurting from that hit! Just opening the box smelled AMAZING, I can already tell this is one slipper slope I'll be rapidly sliding down.

Thanks again Brother!
Now, Anyone have any recommendations where to start? :)
i would say try the DE meat pie or the dunhill my mixture first, but you can really try anywhere cause if you dont like it move on to another.

Received my end from SailorAg. Nice hot, brother! I'm glad it wasn't cigars like usual, as I'm well stocked on cigars and haven't been making a dent in them lately.

I foresee making good use of that little pipe. I have a hard time finding the opportunity for a full size pipe lately.

Your end goes out tomorrow.

just to check in, cocker_dude hasn't responded to me for a while, so that may be in limbo...
WaRevo is ACTIVELY working things, despite my personal time issues, and i should have a tracker from james very shortly.

so... WaRevo and i have been hashing things out, back and forth, he doesn't NEED a piper noob package per se as he's an established piper, we can work something out if he lets me know what he can reasonably do, he just wants to get a little trade cred, meet some people, get established... long story short, i gave james WAAAAY too much leash and he done gone silly on me:

seriously, this looks like the SPONSOR'S SIDE! a DOZEN blends (escudo, mm965 eliz and navy rolls, tawney blackwoods and virginia woods, brigham klondike and hudson bay, and three "mystery aro's", points on that idea, sir!0, AND a fiver of solid sticks (three perdomo, a victor sinclair, and a NC h.upp that is at least two years old by the band), AND three amazing resto'd DrGrabows! seriously, we just allowed you to run WAAAY wild on this, man. o)

also, pipe porn. top to bottom, a westbrook, a starfire, and one without a line or style listed on it, but just a nice little age-worn sandblast. you and i both dig those older grabows, and you have a good eye for them.

james, i am sorry we took this long to get squared away, and this is an AMAZING selection all around. now i gotta figure out some "fair and equitable" return...

Glad it will be enjoyed. And return I would be happy with a couple of samples of tobacco you like and think I may like. Heck send me some tobacco samples that you don't like even lOL I will smoke it. My part is just things I enjoy and wanted to share. Thank you for giving me a chance.

James
