  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

    Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over the next few weekends BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

I know it was your least favorite of the ones you sent, however, I have been intrigued by Molto Dulce since running across reviews of it so I fired it up last night in my MM legend. It was a great smoke. Crazy wet though and now I know what goupy is but the aroma was incredible. The tin note and room note mostly came through to the flavor when smoked. I will have to try drying it out a bunch and seeing if that helps the wet goupyness.

I could not get over the overwhelming peat smell coming out of the box though. It reminded me immediately of islay scotch (laphroaig is my favorite). I am hoping this is what latakia is all about as I have yet to try one.

You did an awesome job with the breadth of samples. You are a true steward of the newbie pipe trade.

In the words of the @thedismaltrade , it is a panty dropper, but you can't dry it out. Take the lid off and leave it open for a month...sopping wet. Just smoke it very slow and plan on 5,000 relights.
