  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over time BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

I will be happy to give you lessons. Carried a 200+ average since high school. Just like poker, I will be happy to take your money.
If memory severs (of course this is rhetorical as I do recall quite clearly) the last two poker tourneys we played in I knocked you out big boy!

Pretty fired up, I got a call that they want me to sub tomorrow so I called the pro shop and he said he'd have my ball done by 4:00 today. So I'll pick it up, toss a couple games to get the feel then off to league tomorrow night, new bowling shirts and all!

Last week we got bowling shirts from the shop, it was also the first time in the history of the team that we took all four games (it was the shirts), so we told Bob that if we do it again this week, he has to buy us all pants too! Then we're off next to shoes with our names embroidered on the heels!

Here's out shirts, I think they're cool as heck, they're a golf shirt of the new poly breathable stuff, plain on the front, this on the back:

Been bowling for years. Solid 200+ average. Only been bowling in the Summer since I started law school. Hopefully when I am out I can go back to bowling in a Winter League. Good luck with the new equipment Wade. Do you remember what it was?

Awesome shirt! I don't bowl often but my oldest daughter really took a shine to it. She made the varsity bowling team this year and they are ready to kick some ass after missing state by 6-7 pins last year. she has so much fun!

Well I Googled my bowling ball and I paid to much damnit, my fault as I just jumped right in, oh well, lesson learned. Here it is:

Got a question for those in the know with the next pic. There seems to be a logo or diagram of a hand with the fingers and thumb in the ball, then a yellow dot in the middle of the diagram. Next to my ring finger hole, there's a yellow dot on the ball. Should my finger holes have been drilled over that dot like in the diagram?

Nope your ball was drilled fine. The dot is called the pin and the hand is the center of gravity. The layout of your ball means that it will roll up earlier (stop skidding and start to hook) and flare more (amount of hook). Also you probably didn't pay too much. Online prices typically don't include drilling which can run $60-$80 with finger grips.

Sweet, that's great information and I do appreciate it. Although I didn't get nearly as much hook with this ball as I did with my friends. That being said, I was at a lane with composite alleys, my ball is new and shiney and the lanes were dripping wet. The place I play for league has wood lanes, the dudes ball is a couple years old and has been sanded.

I'm gonna see how mine reacts tomorrow night on the wood drier lanes and if I still don't get the hook I had before, I'm just gonna have them sand it.

Jeff, getting rid of the cake won't come that easy!
