  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over the next few weekends BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

I'm not the biggest bourbon drinker but here's my opinion ...

Blantons is my personal favorite. Eagle Rare (made by Buffalo Trace, like Blantons) is good but for a little more $$$ I'd just get Blantons.

Slightly less expensive would be Woodford Reserve and Buffalo Trace (took a buddy on part of the KY Bourbon Trail last fall for his birthday and got to tour both Woodford and Buffalo Trace ... both great places!!!). Buffalo Trace makes a FANTASTIC bourbon liquor for the holidays (probably available now and only available at their shop ... so call them up and order some ... you won't be disappointed). If you feel like being a real man you can order a bottle of their White Dog ... lol ... it'll put some hair on your chest for sure. LOL

Four Roses Small Batch is excellent for the price (I much prefer it to the Single Barrel variety, actually)

A really really great bourbon that flies under the radar is Black Maple Hill ... price falls somewhere between a bottle of Woodford and a bottle of Blantons ... ($32-36?) ... a really great bottle to have around and pour a blind glass for a bourbon loving buddy ...

Bulleit isn't bad ... not one of my favorites though.

If you're looking for a good mixing bourbon I'd just go with Maker's Mark.

Buffalo Trace makes Buffalo Trace, Old Weller, Eagle Rare, Blantons and Pappy Van Winkle.

Speaking of Buffalo Trace products ... I just got back from buying my buddy a bottle of Blantons for his birthday ... it's a tradition. Looking forward to giving it to him tonight. :)

Blanton's is very, very good.

I agree with Eagle Rare and Buffalo Trace as being the next choices.

Knob, Bulleit, Elijah Craig, and Makers are all good choices after those.

The new Makers 46 is actually a pretty good bourbon for only about 35 bucks.

Booker's for me. Also like Baker's, Elijah 12 and 18, Maker's, Buffalo Trace, and Four Roses Small Batch, among some others. Knob Creek just doesn't do anything for me, especially at the outrageous price it fetches.
