  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over time BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

Bundles, seconds, premiums?

what do you smoke?

i would say that for every 100 cigars that I smoke,
1 would be a super duper hard to get with a value of $20 to over $100 per cigar
maybe 20 would be a premium like a good isom or padron anni
the other 79% would be a mix of bundles, seconds, and modestly priced fuentes and padrons.

whats your mix like?

I really have a good mix of bundle to premium with about 2% being that HTF +$20 mark. For the most part, my daily habit is about $15-$25 (4 cigars). My luck with CBid keeps me stocked with LfD L200's and that helps a lot.

I really wish I had a steady supply of Padron Fumas. I would smoke those 2-3 times a day without even worrying about it.

Right now I've been buying up more of the $10+ cigars when I see a good deal on them. Once I have a cabinet for storage I will keep these for aging and the occasional smoke. I am in love with Mayorgas with natural wrappers. I can usually land the 27ct triangle shaped box for $40 or less typically.

I only smoke about 4 sticks a week right now simply due to lack of time. That allows me to smoke my favorites all the time, averaging in the $7 - $10 per stick range. I intersperse cigar smoking with pipes, which keeps my costs fairly low on an annual basis, allowing me to cater to my more expensive tastes from time to time.

About the same here, I only smoke on average 3 to 4 a week, so I tend to smoke good sitcks. If I am on a big smoking week I will mix all of the above.

I don't smoke anything that most would consider a dog rocket and no bundles or seconds, except for the ones that show up in trades, bombs etc. Those I reseve for rainy days and when I might put it down unfinished.

For the most part I only smoke good sticks alone and good to great sticks with company. I'd say about a 50/50 split between the two, smoking around 3-5 sticks a week.

4-5 per week...I try to smoke good stuff all the time, but for the most part it is a 50% what I get in trades and PIFs, etc...25% WIH (whatever I haves') 15% HTF/super Premuims....10% CCs... averaging 1 CC a month, but Im running low! so I need to slow it down!!!

Doing some quick math, I think I smoke around 25 sticks a month. I'm gonna say that a typical breakdown is 1 over $15 cigar, 4 sticks in the $8 - $15 range, another 5 sticks in the $4 - $7 range, and the remaining 15 would be in the $2 - $3 range.

I've started smoking more $$ smokes myself. I live in CA so smoking is expensive. I generally smoke once a week at my local smoke shop and buy two smokes that are around $10 or so...

Since mine are RX, I smoke something good (for me) that is $4-$7 each on WED, SAT SUN. I have the benefit of having some great smoke tips offered early on that gives me some killer options at that price point. Thanks to RonC all are well cared for so tasted better than an expensive smoke not properly cared for. I try to smoke everyday, on my off days I have been burning 1876 Reserves.

I really don't break it down. But with my average running 1-2/week, I don't bother with bundles or the like. Due to a spending spree a while back I've got more than I can smoke for a considerable amount of time, so it's whatever strikes my fancy that I can pull out of the cooler. That being said, I have VERY few cigars that woudl be valued at or over $10-15.

I'm averaging about 7 cigars a week, not once a day. I would say 5 of those are cigars that i know i like and they usually run in the $6 to $12 range. The other 2 usually fall in the $5 and under category.

My pattern is this. On a day when i'm traveling, which are generally day trips, i take 4 cigars. 2 that i've not tired yet (usually under $5) and 2 that i know i like (Tats, cabs and the like, usually above $6)

Times when i think i may not get to finish or when i'm doing something other than sitting and relaxing, i'll try something new or somehting i know to be "non premium" (under $5).

But as i've been building my colelction, i'm starting to only get the things i know i like. I'm not experiemtning as much as i was. I'm really getting a handle on what i like, so 75% of the time i smoke what i know i like.

Life's too short not to.

As for the $15 and over cigars, i only smoke those on special occassion. I smoked about 8 of them over the 4th of July holidays. I'll smoke 2 on my upcoming anniversary, July 28th. My birthday in Ocotober will get a good one. Our winter poker weekend at the cabin gets them, as does the fall camping trip. What qualifies for a special occassion for me is any time i get to check out of real life and not worry about a thing. During those occassions i make sure i'm only smoking things i like a whole lot. the best of my best.

I only smoke Habanos.

I want to smoke something good and aged when i smoke.

I save the other stuff for yard work and softball games.

Really good question. I would say one a day in the middle range and one in the premium so 50/50.

I have quite a few cigars and will buy seconds because,,,,hey,,,they cost less and smoke the same as if they were regular cigars. I don't care if the cigar has a blem on it because when you fire it up the blem goes away. I do purchase quality cigars and smoke them about 3-5 times a week while I smoke the seconds on a daily basis when I am doing the yard, golfing, traveling, etc.

what do you smoke?... whats your mix like?
I don't keep track, and I don't pay much attention. I'll try anything, and if I like it, I'll buy more. I have everything from Fuente limited releases like Anejos to Holt's Hefdogs, and I smoke 'em all. Smoke what you like, and like what you smoke. :peace:
