  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over time BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

Won a fiver of Cabaiguan Imperiales for 25 bucks and was seriously excited to open the box that I found in the mailbox today. Check 'em out, aren't they great?

:disappoin I sent Cbid an email with these pics that will most likely fall upon deaf ears. I guess you can't win 'em all. One of them did manage to survive the journey intact and the others are in the recovery room after being splinted and bandaged. :disappoin

I'd say about 20% of the boxes I've gotten from cbid have had similar problems. I had a box of the Cabaiguan Imperiales and the foot of the cigars were almost all cracked. Same thing with some Padilla Habano churchills. I'm done with them.

I haven't but Ive heard some horror stories. I should know better and avoid the Connecticut wrappers in the summer since they don't ship with any kind of humipacks.

Mike, that's just down right $hitty my friend!

"avoid the Connecticut wrappers in the summer since they don't ship with any kind of humipacks."

....again, that's no way to do business, they ship all over the US and should take into consideration as such!

I don't care if they're giving away cigars, I'd be afraid of tobacco beatles!

Call CI on the phone, speak to a live agent. Their Customer Service is usually really surprisingly good (tho I've never used Cbid and they might handle those purchases a little differently).

I doubt you'll get a "Tough Cookies" out of them on this sort of situation.

But it's sure worth a free phone call to find out, eh? :dunno:

I agree with OW - call up CI - they have always taken care of me (though I've never, that's right, never used cbid before!).

CBID can be bad, won a box of MB1 and they sent a box of griffins robustos. my head nearly exploded. (worse still, i was still in iraq and had live ammo, since they were meant to be our going home smoke) after about 2 months the situation was resolved, thankfully they didn't send the MB1's out, and i got them.

after i got home. but nevertheless, they DID fix it, just took some time.

I have had several GREAT experiences with CI customer service. Call them live. I will be amazed if they do not say send 'em back to get a full refund or replacement.

I will call a rep even though since I haven't heard back from them I've already pretty much repaired them. I figured if I'm going to be stuck with them I'd better attend to them before they get any worse. I'll have to wait and see what the rep says.

I hav enever had a problem with Cigars International nor CBID their auction company. They are a long standing cigar retailer out of PA that always makes things right. CI's return policy is one of the best in the industry. Try one, you dont like it, the box or condition and send it back for a full refund. They did not get to this size by screwing people but rather by selling cigars in bulk batches.

I'd be surprised if you had a problem with customer service. They've always treated me right. Hell I was even looking for a Liga Privada cutter that they had sold a few of an emailed a customer service rep to find out if they were going to have any more up for auction. Rep told me no, but sent me his personal liga privada cutter. Granted I am sure that he has plenty of swag but it was a pretty nice gesture. Plus I love that cutter.

The return policy is awesome..they'll send you a replacement 5er out tomorrow, I'll wager!

That being said, I've had WAY too many problems with damaged sticks and wrong products from cbid.

I called their customer service dept. and a new fiver along with a postage paid mailing label are headed my way. The rep was very understanding even after I told her that the returns coming her way had already been seen by the attending cigar physician. It was funny hearing her try to pronounce Cabaiguan, now I know what I sounded like Saturday afternoon before Bill helped me out with the correct pronunciation.

If anyone is interested, here are the patients after surgery feeling much better. I hope someone gets to smoke them at the warehouse instead of them being shitcanned.
